The Families

The Centamore Family

The Centamore family (Jessica and her two daughters) have had struggles in their lives, as many people do. It was because of Jessica’s perseverance and commitment to her family that she and her girls have become a partner family for our Lambertville project. While struggling to afford her high cost rental apartment in Warren County, Jessica has persevered even though her current residence lacks that special touch that families need to call a place their “HOME”.

Lambertville will now offer Jessica and her children a wonderful school system that is better equipped to attend to the girls’ special needs. Jessica can now look forward to a Home that she can call her own: full of love and happiness. It will give her and her children what they need to move forward in a positive direction.

The Anane Family

Helen Anane (pronounced “Ana-nay”) is a divorced single mother of 3 sons, Jason (15), Noah (10) and Travis (7). Her oldest son lives in Germany during the school year, but spends summers with Helen. He will be staying with Helen permanently starting in the summer of 2013. Helen grew up in New Jersey but moved to Germany when she got married. She returned to the U.S. in 2010.

The Anane Family currently lives in a 2-bedroom apartment in Somerset. The apartment is crowded and, in addition, the rent consumes approximately one-third of Helen’s monthly income. To support her family, Helen works two jobs: one as a school bus driver and the other as an administrative assistant in the Somerset County Department of Human Services. Helen plans to attend classes to obtain additional driver certification and hopes to work full-time as a delivery driver in the future.

Helen is motivated to succeed as a homeowner. While living in Germany, she gained valuable experience in home maintenance, since renters there are expected to install needed items and to maintain their apartments by themselves. Helen has shown herself to be highly organized and disciplined about adhering to a budget to make her dream of owning a home a reality.
