Basking Ridge, NJ– Keller Williams Towne Square created and hosted the first annual “Realtors for Habitat” event on Monday, March 6th, which raised over $15,000 for the building of affordable homes through Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity. The event featured networking opportunities for realtors with food, music, dancing, and a presentation by the next partner homeowner family, Tonia-Sue Thomas and her three children.
Jan Holmstrup, Executive Director of Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, shared “This was such a touching and monumental surprise. When we’re threatened with significan budget cuts, it is wonderful to have the support of our local community for this important work. An affordable homeownership opportunity is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty for many families like the Thomas’s. It is only with the support of the community that we are able to literally raise the walls and quality of life for families in need in the Hunterdon and Somerset county areas.”
Keller Williams Towne Square will participate in the actual building of the Thomas family home in May for their annual KW Red Day, an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving the local communities. “At the core of Keller Williams Realty is a conviction that who you are in business with matters. We believe that the company we keep can contribute to our lives in untold ways.”
