What can our community group do for Habitat?

Your service club, alumni organization, networking group, or other interested community group can spend a day on-site building a Habitat house. As a Habitat community partner, your group can make a positive contribution by helping to address the chronic shortage of affordable housing in our area. But the experience is never one-sided. Working together to sponsor a Habitat house can be both enjoyable and deeply rewarding. The experience draws people together, builds team spirit, and provides the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a real difference for a deserving family.

Each group is asked to sponsor the day with a suggested minimum of $50 per person (fundraising examples: hold a fundraiser or donating construction materials). Sponsors are then given the opportunity to schedule a Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday workday on-site, exclusively for members of their group. Up to 15 group members can be accommodated per site, per day (8:30 AM -3:30 PM). The Workday program is a unique opportunity for your group to give back to the community in a tangible way, helping to build a home for a family in need.
