Raritan Valley Habitat Committees

Building Committee: Plans week-by-week construction activities with Co-Chairs and Construction Project Manager; recommends new house designs and material vendors.

Faith-Based and Community Relations Committee: Works with civic clubs, community organizations, and faith-based groups to raise awareness about Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Family Selection: Identifies and screens potential Habitat homeowners; reviews families’ financial applications; visits candidate families to assure need for decent and affordable housing.

Family Support: Members serve as liaisons to new partner families during entire construction process; recommends resources (money management training; tax help, etc.) Prepares newsletter.

Finance Committee: Reviews monthly budget information; assists in preparation of annual budget; determines costs of building affordable houses; develops business plan for Re Store feasibility.

IT Committee: Provides critical, on-going trouble shooting for front office; recommends hardware and software updates; assists in updating RVHFH website.

Marketing/Fundraising/Event Committee: Recommends marketing campaigns and donor events; suggests strategies to increase brand visibility with social media posts; helps plan annual event.

Property Acquisition Committee: Meets with town managers/faith-based congregations/lawyers to determine availability of affordable and “buildable” land for purchase or donation.
