RVHFH is committed to building affordable housing in
Hunterdon and Somerset County and is always searching for land
suitable for building single family homes.
Building lots must be:
- Located in Somerset County or
Hunterdon County,
- Suitable for building a modest home,
duplex, or cluster of homes, and
- Located in a neighborhood appropriate
for raising a family.
While discounts and donations of suitable
lots would be graciously accepted, they are not required. We
sometimes pay fair market value for appropriate lots, and we
finance our purchases internally without drawn out loan
approvals. Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit
organization, so any donations or discounts below fair market
value are tax deductible.
We would be happy to perform a first-cut
evaluation of your lot and hold a no-obligation discussion of
possible acquisition arrangements. We have experience dealing
with “challenged” properties, including those with liens, title
problems, and zoning questions. The members of our committee
are all volunteers, people of integrity, who are not working for
a commission or profit. In our careers we are engineers,
planners, real estate and business professionals. We have the
expertise to evaluate the potential of your property quickly and
with respect for you and your land.
