Community Partnership Awards

Building Trades:  Adamsville Maintenance, Rich Scagliotta
Rich Scagliotta has provided his excavating services for our homes in Manville, Bernardsville and now for the 4 homes we are
building in Franklin Township. For the Bernardsville project, Rich solicited discounts on quarry materials and a waiver of soil dumping fees from Tilcon. He also donated topsoil and mesh to protect the grass seed in Bernardsville. Rich and his staff helped us get all of the underground utilities and the drywells installed within the limited space in front of the Bernardsville homes.

Community Builder Award: Hunterdon/Somerset Assoc. of Realtors
The Hunterdon/Somerset Association of Realtors (HSAR) has supported RVHFH for 10 years, featuring RVHFH as part of their events so that their membership and support organization will offer services to Habitat. In addition HSAR applies to their state
organizations and affiliate groups for grants for our affiliate. We are grateful to Executive Director, Kathy Picardo, her staff and the association for their ongoing and generous support.

Construction Partner: Foley, Inc.
Foley, Inc. has gone well beyond their initial commitment as Signature Sponsor for our Girard Avenue project. Not only are they funding half of two homes and providing work crews on-site, they are also providing both their expertise and the use of their Caterpiller construction equipment on the project. Their generosity is saving us money and shortening the construction time for these 4 homes. We are so grateful for Foley’s involvement as a vital partner on the Girard Avenue project.

Fundraising Partner: John DiNizio
For 3 years, John DiNizio led the Hunterdon/Somerset Association of Realtors golf outing to benefit RVHFH, raising up to $11,000 each year. In 2007, HSAR was unable to hold their traditional golf outing, so in a short time, John and a few other Habitat supporters put together a very successful outing at Royce Brook, clearing almost $5,000.

Fundraising Partner: Dr. Jodi Dinnerman
Jodi Dinnerman owns the LightSource Family Wellness Center in Lebanon, NJ. For 2 years she has promoted the work of RVHFH by donating her consultation fee for new clients to RVHFH. She also encourages her clients to make donations to our program. Jodi held 2 fundraisers for Habitat in 2007, donating the proceeds to RVHFH.

Fundraising Partner: Brian Jannone
Brian Jannone heads the Jannone Team for Prudential New Jersey Properties in Martinsville. For over 4 years this realty office has made a donation to RVHFH for every real estate closing they complete. They promote the work of Habitat for Humanity with every client. Brian and his associates donate over $1,000 per year to support our program.

Good Neighbor:   Art Satterwhite
Art Satterwhite has been our good neighbor and friend on Girard Ave. in Franklin Township. Art has given us water and offered access to his electrical outlet.  He also keeps an eye on the property and keeps us informed of the concerns of other neighbors in relation to the project.  Art, we thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Housing Ministry: United Reformed Church
RVHFH was originally organized by a committee from the United Reformed Church. Beginning in 1992, the Church donated space for us to use as a home base. For 15 years the church has supported our steady growth, allowing us to use additional rooms for our many activities and events. In 2007 the church approved our request to upgrade a large classroom for our much needed additional office space. We are grateful to URC for giving us a home, so that we can provide homes for others.

Municipal Partnership: Vince Dominach
Vince has been an exceptional liaison for RVHFH within the
municipality of Franklin Township. He has helped to pave the way for 13 new homes, working to expedite the approval process so that Habitat can provide housing for those in need. Vince is a true community partner – with his guidance we have moved our Franklin Township projects forward in record time. We are grateful for his dedication to advancing the cause of affordable housing in Franklin Township.

Municipal Partnership: Franklin Township
Since 1998 the staff and elected leaders of Franklin Township, Somerset have partnered with our Habitat affiliate in providing
affordable housing. We have received variances, zoning and building approvals for 15 homes and 5 additional sites have been identified for new homes. To date, 7 Habitat homes have been built in Franklin Township and 4 are under construction. Franklin Township was the first municipality to have a developer’s agreement with our affiliate and to draw upon their trust funds for our projects. We are grateful to Mayor Brian Levine and the township council and staff for their steadfast support.

Professional Service: Mike Ligorano,
Norris McLaughlin & Marcus
Mike stepped in as a pinch hitter on our Bridgewater project to help us obtain our final approvals, assembling a team of young attorneys to work on our projects under his guidance and direction. He has championed our cause and led us through the complex legal course of action that enables us to negotiate, purchase and develop land to build homes for our partner families. His contribution to our success has been truly priceless.

Donor Recognition Categories
This donor recognition program is designed to promote and honor our supporters in a consistent and equitable fashion. Six recognition levels were established. All donors are thanked in writing. Certificates are printed to sent to donors in the top five categories, and small gifts were selected to recognize supporters in the top three categories.
